Blackjack
How to play
- Bet: tap chips to build your bet (25 to 2,500), then Deal.
- Goal: finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count their value, face cards count 10, and an ace counts 1 or 11.
- Hit or stand: take another card, or keep what you have.
- Double: double your bet on your first two cards and take exactly one more card.
- Split: split two cards of the same value into two hands, up to four hands. Split aces get one card each.
- Surrender: give up a bad first two cards and get half your bet back.
- Blackjack: an ace and a 10-value card pays 3 to 2.
Tips
- Turn on the coach to see the best play for every hand and why. It follows basic strategy for these rules.
- Always split aces and eights. Never split tens or fives.
- Skip insurance. It's a side bet that loses over time.
- Counting cards? Go ahead. We deal from a single deck down to the last quarter, and the deck shows how many cards are left.
Beat the dealer to 21 at a single-deck table with some of the friendliest rules around. You play with free chips: there's no real money, nothing to buy, and chips have no cash value.
Table rules
One deck, reshuffled when fewer than 13 cards are left. The dealer stands on all 17s, checks for blackjack under an ace or a 10, and pays insurance 2 to 1. You can double on any first two cards, including after a split, and surrender your first two cards. With perfect basic strategy this is close to an even game.
