Word Search
How to play
- Find a word: drag across it from the first letter to the last. On a phone you can also tap the first letter, then the last.
- Directions: easy puzzles run across and down. Medium adds diagonals. Hard words can go in any of 8 directions, including backwards.
- The word list: found words get a colored highlight in the grid and are crossed off the list.
- Bonus word: one more word from the same category is hidden but not listed. Find it for bragging rights. If you miss it, it's revealed at the end.
- Hints: tap the light bulb and the first letter of a word will glow. Hints are free, but they're counted.
- New puzzle: tap New Puzzle (or Change, next to the category name) to pick a new category and size.
Tips
- Look for unusual letters first, like a J, Q, X or Z. Few words share them.
- Scan one row at a time for the first letter of a word, then check the eight letters around it.
- Long words are easier to spot than short ones. Find them first and the grid gets easier.
- For the bonus word, think of the category: what's missing from the list?
Find the hidden words in the grid of letters. Pick a category, from Game Show Night and Groovy '70s to Outer Space and Pizza Party, and a size from easy to hard. Every puzzle is made fresh, so you never run out, and each one hides a secret bonus word.
