Classic Solitaire (Klondike)
How to play
- Goal: move all 52 cards onto the four foundation piles at the top right, one pile per suit, in order from Ace up to King.
- The tableau: the seven columns below. Build them downward in alternating colors: a red 6 goes on a black 7, a black 5 on a red 6.
- Moving runs: you can move a correctly ordered run of face-up cards together. When you uncover a face-down card it turns over automatically.
- Empty columns: only a King, or a run starting with a King, can fill an empty column.
- The stock: tap the deck at the top left to turn over cards. When it runs out, tap the empty spot to recycle the waste pile.
Tips
- Turn over face-down cards whenever you can. Hidden cards are what lose games.
- Don't rush low cards to the foundations if you still need them to hold a column together.
- Think twice before emptying a column if you don't have a King ready to move into it.
- Tap any card to send it to the best spot automatically, or drag it where you want it.
Classic Solitaire, also called Klondike, is the card game that came with every Windows PC and taught a generation to love a deck of cards. This version plays right in your browser with smooth animations, unlimited undo, hints when you get stuck, and a brand-new Daily Deal every day.
Draw 1 or Draw 3?
Draw 1 turns over one card at a time and is the relaxed way to play. Draw 3 turns over three cards and lets you play only the top one, which is the classic challenge. Switch in the options menu (the sliders button).
Scoring
You earn 10 points for each card moved to a foundation, 5 for moving a card from the waste to the tableau, and 5 for each card you turn over. Win fast for a time bonus.
