Family Feud, hosted by Steve Harvey, casts families of five through its audition page. The rules and steps below are the show’s own, read in October 2026. The show tapes at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia; to watch a taping from the audience instead, see our tickets guide.

Who Can Apply

  • Five family members related by blood, marriage or legal adoption.
  • Each must be a U.S. citizen or have permission to work in the United States.
  • There is no age requirement, but the show suggests contestants be 15 or older because of the nature of the questions.
  • You must be 18 or older to submit the application; if you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian has to submit it for you.
  • Nobody on the team may be running for political office or have been on more than two game shows in the last year.
  • Anyone who has been on Family Feud before must wait 10 years from that appearance.
  • Nobody on the team may know or be related to anyone employed by FremantleMedia, Debmar-Mercury, Wanderlust Productions, any affiliate that carries the show, or any Steve Harvey production, including The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation.

How to Apply

  • Auditions are held online, over Zoom, on an ongoing basis. Click “Apply” on the audition page to start.
  • An audition video is “highly recommended but not mandatory.” Paste a link to it in the application (YouTube, a public Facebook post, or a download link such as WeTransfer). The show suggests introducing every family member, saying where you are from, maybe playing a mock round, and aiming for three to five minutes.
  • The page’s answer to “What are the producers looking for?” is “families who have energy, enthusiasm and an ability to play the game!”
  • The show says it will be in touch within about four weeks with an update, and possibly to set up a Zoom call; families who are chosen get a phone call to book a tape date.

Choosing Your Five

The show’s advice for standing out is to tell it as much as you can about your family, with photos and fun stories, and in a mock game to clap and cheer for each other. Beyond that, pick the five who will enjoy it most: the show plays fast, and every family member answers a face-off question at some point.

A Word of Caution

A real casting call never charges a fee: anyone who asks for money to get you on a show is not the show. GameShows.com is a fan site: we do not cast any show, and comments on this page do not reach the producers.
